The Bible tells us that when He comes back, it will be like in the days of Noah. It was a lovely and good God that had called Noah, who the bible calls “a preacher of righteousness”, to build a big boat to save human beings and animals from the flood that was coming. Noah had opened the door to the Ark, but only 8 people entered it, and then “the Lord shut him in”. We can only imagine the horror that was outside the Ark when people understood that what Noah had preached was true. Women, men and children knocking on a closed door as the water was increasing and rising and at last “swallowed” them all.
The Lord God is just, loving and good, but one day he will close the door of salvation! The Bible tells us that there will be many people knocking at the door, expecting to get in, only to hear his words: “I do not know you!” The people that was ready and prepared entered in to go with Jesus!
Paul is telling in 2nd Tim. 4; 1: “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead.” and Peter tells in 1st Pet. 4; 5:”they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”
Jesus, the appointed judge know us, even out thoughts, our life and everything about us. He has numbered our hair and we know that none of us has lived without doing wrong things. The Bible tells us that only the people that have repented, turned away from their evil ways, let their life be “crucified with Christ” and has been born again by The Holy Spirit, are ready to go with Jesus when he comes.
The Bible tells us that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” and “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.” Jesus opened the door to the eternal life by being punished for our sins by his death on the cross, and he will soon close the door and let the judgments come to the people that did not go through the open door! John tells us very clearly in his Gospel, John 3; 36: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
