It is tragic that so many people that say that they believe in Jesus, at the same time is living with defeat and all the time need to come to Jesus for forgiveness and comfort. And then they continue to live in the same way thereafter! It is time for us to rise up and get out from a life in continuous condemnation, and let me say that clearly: You do not get free by quoting the beginning of Romans 8;1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.” and maybe find some comfort from 1st John 3;20: “If our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” You can proclaim the Word until you get tired, but you will not get free before you repent! The little feeling of comfort that you might get will not last long, but let me also tell you: It is possible to be really free and live victoriously!
I just do not understand why so many like verse 20 in 1st John 3 better than verse 21 and 22 where it is written: “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God; and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.”
We are desperately in need of bold Christians, driven by the Spirit of God, who love Jesus and honestly and boldly declare what is written in Psalms 40;9: “I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” This is what God has done – placed his will in our hearts so that it is the natural thing for us to do! We desire to please Him.
But to have this happen to us, we need to repent, let our own selfish desires die with Christ, have all our joy in Him and be able to cry out with Paul as he says in Galatians 2;20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” This is a choice for you, turn your back to the worldly pleasures, proclaim Jesus as your real Lord and do not play with what your natural human desires are! You know better, and you are willing to stand high, clearly following the Lord Jesus, and he will confirm his miracle life in you!
