God still is “a consuming fire” (Hebr 12:29) towards the people that has His wrath over their life as it is defined in John 3:36: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him». The wrath of God hit Jesus on the cross and it is only under that blood of Jesus where we can fine peace and friendship with God! Only in Jesus, with Him as the Lord in our life, we can find forgiveness, a cleansed heart and a good conscience!
I do think we all have a problem comprehending what a tremendous victory Jesus won on the cross. Paul tells us that “none of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Cor. 2:8. Paul is also proclaiming in Col 2:14-15 “having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Hallelujah! What a triumph!
Let us celebrate and rejoice this day as we remember that “we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus” Hebr 10:19 Jesus opened up the way, tore down the cover made the God presence available to us human beings! Joined together with God under the blood of Jesus we have a glorious future – a glorious tomorrow – and we rejoice and look forward to being with the Lord himself
forever!
